Do you agree that the best way to prove one knows what they say they know is to get another person to learn?

By Emily On November 26, 2009 Under Experiential learning

I need to write several essays for experiential credit towards my college degree. I have many years of work experience, but I have not read many books. I find I learn best by getting my hands dirty and just jumping in and asking questions… I use the book, owners manual, instructions as a last resort.

So as part of my preparation for the interview that will follow the submission of my credit by evaluation essays, I vollunteered to teach a series of workshops on some of the topics I have learned through my work experience. Do you think that sending the course evaluations as part of my portfolio will help to prove that I know what I know?

Not necessarily. What if your course evaluations are poor? Not only that not everyone can teach. They may know a great deal of information on any given subject, yet not be able to explain it in a manner others can understand.
